This is the Pack's lone fundraiser. It helps us fund our activities for the entire year. The easiest way to participate in the fundraiser is to sign up for a show-and-sell shift. These are typically 2 hour shifts at a table that we’ve set up outside a local business.
Remember, selling popcorn will reduce your Pack dues!
To participate in the fundraiser, you will need an account in the Trail’s End system. You can do certain things via the website, but most activity occurs in the mobile app. In the app, you can enter and track orders, as well as take credit card payment. There are lots of instructional videos available in the app to help you become familiar with it.
If you have sold in years past, please use the same account from previous years; don’t make a new account. If you can’t remember your username or password, or in general if you have trouble signing in or registering, please contact a Popcorn Kernel.
If you have not participated before and are registering for the first time, you will need the information noted below.
Council: Michigan Crossroads
District: 4 North Star
Unit: Pack 1049
Unit Code: H4YX5
There will be opportunities for Scouts to sell at “Show and Sells” starting on Friday September 6th and over the following several weekends. These sales happen in front of stores and count toward a Scout’s personal sales. The sign-ups will happen through the Trails End App / Website. We are encouraging each Scout (with the help of a parent) to sign up for at least one time slot. Please sign up for one shift to begin with. We will communicate if we need more help. All transactions will happen in the app, so please have a charged phone. The Popcorn Kernels will be available to support you so you can have the basic knowledge needed to complete the sales process. We understand that many of you are familiar with the “Show and Sell” process, while others will require and receive guidance at the start of your shift.
Dates / Shifts can be found and scheduled in the Trails End app or on the Trails End website. Please email one of the Popcorn Kernels if you are having trouble signing up. We can add someone, but we need them to exist in the system.
Online sales are a huge opportunity for each Scout and for our Pack as a whole. This is a great way to reach family and friends who are out of state or far enough away to make hand delivery inconvenient. With Online purchases, the popcorn is delivered right to those that place orders.
Note that the product offering online is a bit different than what is sent to the pack.
An important part of selling online is setting up your Scout's public page. Be sure to fill out the About Me text and upload a profile picture so anyone who visits will be sure they are buying popcorn from your Scout.
Wagon Sales (requesting product and completing non-storefront sales in person rather than online) are a third option. Payment is due when you take an order. If someone can’t pay by credit card you can accept cash and then charge your own credit card and keep the cash.
Direct donations are welcome; however, they do not count toward our total sales number.
Donations can be accepted in two ways.
In the app there are options to make military donations at custom dollar amounts.
Cash donations with 100% to the pack can be received, but is effectively fundraising outside of the popcorn sale, which is why it doesn’t count toward prizes.
We are not selling popcorn on competitive value. Rather, we are requesting our community to support our Scouts, and, in return for their generosity, they receive popcorn. In other words, we are not attempting to compete on price with other snacks.
